MAX POLLAK

Hey guys, you are in for a treat! MAX POLLAK is pictured on the US Postage Stamp honouring Tap Dance, and has recently been awarded a NY State Artist Grant for his musical compositions and choreography. And he will be in Oslo end of October.

He created and currently performs the new role of tap dancing “Frosch” in “Die Fledermaus” by Johann Strauss at Bavarian State Opera in Munich. Seamlessly combining body percussion, tap dance and singing, he has performed worldwide with top artists in jazz, Latin, and classical music.

He spent his formative years learning from and working with his mentors Carnell Lyons, Heather Cornell, Buster Brown, Jimmy Slyde, Cyro Baptista, AND, here it comes: Los Muñequitos de Matanzas!! With the latter, he has developed a very interesting “RumbaTap” , where he combines step and tap dance with bodypercussion to make rumba rhythms. And of which he will give a workshop at the Oslo Caribbean Festival this year. Do NOT miss out on this!!
