Great News for this years Oslo Caribbean: We will spoil you with 2 amazing live concerts. Friday 21st of October at Riksscenen we proudly present: Live Kizomba with the Angolan artist Livongh.

Livongh was born in Namibe (Angola) in 1980, and learned to play the piano from his father at the age of nine. He appeared as a child on Angolan television, but it was not until 1996 that his musical career as a singer began Livongh in earnest. Since then, he has dedicated his life to music, and also to composing, arranging and producing. He has taken his inspiration from several artists such as Kassav, Irmãos Almeida, Micheal Jackson, U2 and Steve Wonder.
In 1998, Livongh moved to Lubango, where he released his first album “Amei de mais”.
Since then he has played with several bands and on many major stages on the continent, and in 2012 Livongh records an exciting solo album “Meu Mundo”, with various musical styles, such as. Kizomba, Semba, Balada, Sol Music, Kilapanga and Salsa, performed in Portuguese, Umbundu, English, French and Spanish.
Livongh has also done musical projects with other artists and bands such as Elias Dia Kimuezo, Jacob Desvarieux, Eric Virgal, Yola Semedo, C4 Pedro, Anselmo Ralph, Mamborró, Sam Mangwana, Ary, Paulo Flores, Eduardo Paim, Fly and Calabeto.
He has been nominated for the AMA (Angola Music Awards) and topped the list for Rádio Luanda, in the category Kizomba of the year.
His latest album “Kizomba na Passada” shows his versatility as an eclectic musician, with a wide range of genres from Ghettozouk, Kizomba, Semba and Cola-Semba to AfroHouse. In 2020 Livongh released the single “La Negra Tomassa” and in 2022 the single “Sofro por Dentro”.

 

The doors open at 21:00 with DJ, concert start approx. at 21:30. The concert is included in the OCF Pass, but if you don’t have a festival pass, you can also get the concert ticket for NOK 350/300.  Link to concert tickets only here.

The Oslo Caribbean Festival international DJs will keep the dance floor cookie’ both before and after the concert. There will also be several  dance floors after the concert, with both kizomba and semba, salsa and bachata.

Saturday concert is salsa, son and cha cha cha by Son Libre with two great guest singers, at Sentralen. Info coming up very soon.
